Regeneration

The Paynes & Borthwick project is one of a number of regeneration schemes that are marking Deptford's renaissance. Located on the boundary between Lewisham and Greenwich, famed for its maritime history, its Royal Park, university, restaurants and bars, Deptford is carving out a niche of its own - as South East London's creative hub.

1. Convoys Wharf
It features some 450,000m² of floorspace with around 3500 new homes (1,200 of which are affordable), 73,000m² of employment space plus major new cultural and creative facilities.
2. Derwent London
The site is 7.9acres, with planning for 980 residential units comprising 636 private, 246 social rented, 98 intermediate units and 3,600m² of class A1 1,653m² of class A3, 633m² of class D1 plus 727 basement car parking.
3. Bellway Homes
Approximately 500 residential units under construction with 50% being private.
4. Deptford Station
The £25m investment in a replacement Deptford station and improvements to the listed carriage ramp will provide a safer, accessible and more welcoming environment.
New shops and a public piazza will attract more visitors to the area, boosting the local environment and economy. The project will also provide much needed housing as well as safeguard and enhance the historic carriage ramp, one of the oldest surviving railway structures in London.
